What Are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are used to control blemishes, reduce irregular pigmentation, and fade fine lines. Chemical Peels are often used as part of a treatment program that may include additional procedures such as dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, microneedling and lasers for accelerated results. Chemical peels are a relatively affordable option for skin correction that can be used to correct a number of unwanted skin conditions. The amount of downtime required varies on the depth of the peel, but usually side effects are very mild and don’t interfere with your normal activities.
How do chemical peels work?
Chemical peels use different active ingredients to chemically exfoliate the outer layers of the skin. This causes more rapid skin cell turnover and brings fresh cells to the surface for brighter, smoother skin. Some peels formulated for acne-prone skin also help to eliminate acne bacteria, resulting in clearer skin.
Chemical peels are designed to treat a range of complexion concerns, including:
-
Wrinkles and fine lines
-
Hyperpigmentation & brown spots
-
Uneven skin tone
-
Sun damage
-
Acne scars
-
Melasma
-
And more!

How many treatments will I need?
Although you will see results with just one chemical peel, most people benefit from ongoing treatments on a regular basis. For light or moderate peels, a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is usually suggested. Deeper peels may need to be repeated only once or twice a year.
